I really am excited to see what Flats Chicago can do in Uptown. Seems like a lot of these old buildings still have plenty of life left in ‘em.
I recently had the opportunity to visit the soon-to-be renovated Lawrence House Apartments (originally known as the New Lawrence Hotel) at 1020 W. Lawrence.
There is a pool in the basement, which by most accounts, has not been used since the 1930s.
Also, a long closed diner - frozen in time since the last cup of coffee was served almost 20 years ago.
The rooftop once housed a summer garden, with views of the lake and the Uptown theater district.
Really looking forward to seeing what www.flatschicago.com has in store for the renovation.
